Katherine is an experienced external investigator for independent schools, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and institutions of higher education. Katherine’s investigations practice focuses on civil rights compliance related to harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct. In addition, Katherine frequently serves as an appointed advisor to parties in administrative meetings and Title IX hearings. With a significant background in both litigation and investigations, Katherine efficiently synthesizes complex matters and assists clients with various needs, particularly relating to Title VII, Title IX, civil rights compliance, and investigations. Katherine also regularly attends Title IX seminars and has received ATIXA training.
While in college and law school, Katherine volunteered to serve numerous organizations in her local communities and in communities across the globe, including a children’s hospital, Habitat for Humanity building sites, an international human rights organization, and a New Orleans-based non-profit to assist with Child in Need of Care cases. Additionally, she was a student advocate in her law school’s domestic violence clinic where she used a trauma-informed approach to help clients obtain Temporary Restraining Orders and Civil Protection Orders. Through these experiences, Katherine developed deep knowledge of and passion for civil rights law.
