Empathetic and confident, Britt’s practice focuses on serving in interim roles for institutions, providing extensive Title VI, Title VII, and Title IX consulting services, serving as a Title IX hearing officer, and conducting trauma-informed, neutral investigations into complex misconduct matters.  

Interim Roles, Interim Coordination & Consulting Services

Drawing on her experience as an in-house Title IX Investigator and Prevention Specialist at an institution with a diverse student, staff, and faculty population, Britt is frequently called on by a wide array of public and private institutions to fill interim roles. Britt has served as an Interim Title IX Coordinator, Interim Deputy Equal Opportunity Coordinator, and Interim Director of Investigations for a variety of public and private institutions. Through her interim experience, she has developed expertise in seamlessly filling interim roles while simultaneously strengthening institution’s Title VI, Title VII, and Title IX programs, by streamlining processes; updating policies and procedures; collaborating with institutional partners; and offering personalized, constructive feedback based on institutional culture and national trends. Additionally, Britt serves as Aleta’s Interim Services Coordinator, which gives her the opportunity to recommend Aleta’s vast array of interim services to institutions as they approach times of transition.

Britt’s extensive in-house institutional expertise also allows her to serve as a thoughtful consultant for institutions. She provides guidance to institutions on a multitude of Title VI, Title VII, and Title IX topics, including developing robust compliance programs, updating policies and procedures, investigation best practices, informal and alternative resolutions, and prevention programming.

Title IX Hearing Officer & External Investigator

Britt is called on to serve as a third-party neutral Title IX hearing officer, adjudicator, and decision maker for a wide array of higher education institutions. Britt provides support to institutions through every stage of the Title IX hearing process, including hearing preparation, conducting hearings, and drafting thoughtful and logical written determinations.

Britt is also a highly skilled external investigator, who is frequently called on by institutions to conduct trauma-informed Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, and misconduct investigations. She has conducted a multitude of complex K-12, higher education, sporting, and workplace investigations into reports of discrimination, misconduct, intimate partner violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and stalking.

Additionally, Britt’s experience serving as an Interim Director of Investigations has given her the opportunity to oversee a large volume of investigations. She has extensive experience providing feedback to investigators on complex investigation reports, training investigators, and assisting with developing investigative plans, all of which further contribute to her strengths as an investigator.

  • Conducting trainings for institutions on a variety of Title VI, Title VII, and Title IX matters, including mandatory reporting requirements, prevention, Title IX hearing advisor roles, incoming new student orientations, and policies and procedures.

  • Providing counsel to colleges and universities on Title IX matters.
