Aleta Law is seeking an Attorney Investigator to join our team of investigations and resolutions specialists. This is a writing-intensive role focused on drafting high-quality investigation reports and written determinations of outcome related to highly sensitive allegations involving sexual misconduct, sexual assault, Title IX violations, discrimination, harassment, civil rights violations, bullying, and other institutional policy violations.

Depending on client needs and attorney experience, Attorney Investigators may also conduct or assist with higher education, school, or workplace investigations. Attorney Investigators also serve as institution-appointed advisors for parties participating in Title IX and civil rights resolution processes, providing procedural support consistent with applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies.

Applicants must be exceptional writers with excellent organizational skills, a natural curiosity, sound judgment, and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two or more years of experience conducting Title IX, sexual misconduct, civil rights, school, or workplace investigations.

• Two or more years of experience drafting investigative reports and/or written determinations related to allegations of sexual misconduct, discrimination, harassment, civil rights violations, or workplace misconduct.

• Superior writing skills and the ability to thoroughly, objectively, and clearly analyze and explain complex information.

• Emotional intelligence and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects in a remote work environment.

Candidates must hold a J.D. degree from an accredited law school and be licensed in one or more jurisdiction.

Attorney Investigators are expected to treat all individuals involved in investigation and resolution processes with sensitivity, professionalism, and neutrality while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, case managers, and clients. Attorney Investigators must possess exceptional organizational and time-management skills, exercise excellent judgment in sensitive matters, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines. A high degree of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence is essential.

In addition, the candidate must possess superior research and organizational skills and strong technical skills, including mastery of Microsoft Office 365, including Adobe, and the ability to learn the firm’s document management and billing systems.

Aleta is a wholly remote law firm, and team members must be self-motivated and able to perform the role fully remotely while conducting business via Zoom, Teams, etc.

This position reports to the Managing Directors and Senior Directors.

Starting salary of $110,000-$150,000, depending on experience.

Occasional travel is required based on client need and for team retreats, training and/or conferences.
